On September 27 at 3:00 PM, we invite you to a concert in Lutsk — “Musical Diplomacy of Ukraine. One Year — 20 Countries, 4 Continents,” performed by pianist, scholar, and ethnomusicologist Taras Filenko.

This will be more than just a concert at Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art. It will be an artistic journey through centuries of Ukrainian musical culture — from Baroque and Romanticism to modern explorations and contemporary interpretations of our musical heritage.

The programme will feature works by Dmytro Bortnianskyi, Mykola Lysenko, Yakiv Stepovyi, Lev Revutskyi, Fedir Yakymenko, Viktor Stepurko, Myroslav Skoryk, and others.

Taras Filenko is a renowned Ukrainian musicologist, ethnomusicologist, educator, and performer. For more than forty years, he has worked in the fields of music history, ethnomusicology, and musical performance, combining research, teaching, and concert activities. As a pianist, organist, and choral conductor, Taras Filenko has performed across Europe and North America, consistently promoting Ukrainian musical heritage and the works of contemporary Ukrainian composers.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Taras Filenko has held benefit concerts and lectures, introducing Ukrainian culture to international audiences and raising funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Ukrainian music performed by Filenko has been heard at concert and academic venues in New York, Pittsburgh, Florida, North and South Carolina, at Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill, as well as at diplomatic missions in the United States, India, and Indonesia.

“THE COLLECTOR’S CODE” presents a private collection shaped not by the rules of the art market, but by personal choice, emotion, and a deep inner connection with art. The exhibition features works by Ukrainian artists of different generations, from 20th-century masters to contemporary artists.

But behind every acquired artwork, there is another story: Why this particular piece? What made it stand out? How did it become part of the collection? What does it mean to its owner today?

On September 25, we will hear these stories firsthand. We will talk not only about the artists and their works, but also about the personal “code” of someone who has been collecting art for many years, guided above all by his own intuition and response to art.

The exhibition closes on September 27, so this is a great opportunity to see it in its final days and discover it from an entirely different perspective — together with the collector.

On September 30, Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art invites you to the one-day educational festival “The Art of Teaching”!

We will bring together art, science, STEM approaches, and contemporary pedagogy to explore the festival’s central question: How can we teach through experience?

The programme includes:

Forum “The Art of Teaching”
Practical STEM seminar “Learning Through Inquiry”
Exhibition space “Education Live”
Children’s laboratory “Explore and Create”
Art therapy activities “Art for All”

The festival will take place as part of the museum’s grant project, the Educational Barrier-Free Hub “Art for All,” supported by Switzerland within the Swiss-Ukrainian UCORD project “Ukraine’s Cohesion and Regional Development,” implemented by NIRAS Sweden AB. The partner responsible for implementing the grant component of the programme is the National Development Institution.
