On October 31 (Saturday) at 5:00 PM, we invite you to the opening of “Defragmentation of Paradise,” an exhibition featuring works from the private collection of the Grynyov family — a collection of Ukrainian art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

“Defragmentation of Paradise” — the second exhibition within the “COLLECTOR’S CODE” project at the Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art.

On October 31 (Saturday) at 5:00 PM, we invite you to the opening of “Defragmentation of Paradise,” an exhibition featuring works from the private collection of the Grynyov family — a collection of Ukrainian art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The Grynyov family has been collecting Ukrainian art since the 1990s. Over the years, they have assembled a collection of approximately 5,000 works, reflecting the diversity of Ukraine’s artistic landscape. It is not only a story of collecting art but also of a long-standing commitment to preserving and promoting Ukrainian cultural heritage.

“Defragmentation of Paradise” is a reflection on loss, memory, and the human desire to rebuild one’s world after destruction. It explores the idea of home as something that no longer exists as we remember it, and the attempt to piece life back together from fragments of memories, images, and emotions.

The exhibition brings together works by Ukrainian artists of different generations, in which images of the Garden of Eden, biblical narratives, and motifs of nature enter into dialogue with the realities of war. Together, they create a multifaceted story of a lost paradise — a space of harmony and safety to which returning is no longer possible.

The history of the collection itself adds particular significance to the project. In 2022, Russian shelling of Kharkiv put thousands of artworks at risk of destruction. A significant part of the collection was successfully rescued and evacuated. Today, these works continue their journey, bearing witness not only to Ukraine’s artistic heritage but also to the resilience of Ukrainian culture.

“Defragmentation of Paradise” is a story about the possibility of creating a new reality even after losing a sense of wholeness — a reality in which beauty, memory, and hope coexist with pain.

Exhibition Curator — Maryna Konieva, art historian, cultural manager, lecturer at the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture, and Chair of the Board of the NGO “Borys and Tetiana Grynyov Collections.”

On October 2 at 5:00 PM, Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art invites you to the opening of Khrystyna Pryimak’s exhibition project “Lost in the Grass.”

Throughout our lives, we are constantly losing something — people, time, connections, points of reference, traditions. Losses, both great and small, remain with us — sometimes as memories, sometimes as a feeling of something irretrievably gone.

In her artistic practice, Khrystyna Pryimak draws on motifs of Ukrainian folk art, particularly the ceramics, embroidery, and pysanka traditions of the Sokal region. At the same time, her works go beyond direct references to tradition: her abstract compositions retain a connection to the nature of her native land, its plants, and the living organisms that inhabit the artist’s inner world.

“Lost in the Grass” is about memory and loss, childhood dreams and the adult awareness of irreversibility. About what we leave behind — and what continues to live within us.

The project is curated by Orest Holubets, Professor, Doctor of Art Studies, and Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

Opening: October 2, 2026 | 5:00 PM
Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art
Lutsk, 1 Korsaka Ivana St.
Admission to the opening is free.

The exhibition will continue till November 1, 2026.
